Your First Resume: Find the Evidence

Work & education · 3-page PDF · 15-25 minutes

Build an honest inventory of work, school, service, and responsibilities.

What this workbook helps you do

A first resume does not need invented experience. School projects, caregiving responsibilities, paid work, volunteering, and practical tasks can reveal useful skills. Describe what you did and what the responsibility required. Separate experience you can support from claims you cannot explain in an interview.

A practice example

Instead of "excellent leader," describe coordinating four classmates to finish a presentation by its deadline. Add a result only when you can support it.
